Plan A turned out to be Petroleum Reservoir Engineering, specializing in welltest analysis. Because I had a technical diploma from NAIT, Amoco hired me in September 1977 to go work as a technologist in Drayton Valley, Alberta. By October I was bored after work, so I grabbed my camera and started shooting photojournalism for the Western Review weekly newspaper, which turned out to be Plan B. More recently Plan C was a vanity project: publishing the Pancake Inventor’s Notebook, a Photographer’s Cookbook. Plan D is to retire in Mexico, where the climate suits our clothes, and the cost-of-living suits our pensions. #consumption #abstractphotography #fineartphotography #pandamnit #lockdown
